Introduction
Position is located at Gutierrez - Hubbell House, a Bernalillo County Open Space property and jointly operated by the Hubbell House Alliance (HHA) under a joint use agreement which gives the HHA primary management responsibility for the property... HHA and the County collaborate on programs that promote the property and educate the public about the natural, agricultural, historic,
cultural, and recreational aspects of the Gutierrez Hubbell House Property and farm
programs. HHA operates the Gutierrez - Hubbell House Property as a living history
museum, a working farm, demonstration garden, historical and cultural gathering location, open space resource, rental event facility, and mercantile gift shop.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintenance and Caretaking
Responsible for providing agricultural assistance. Assist in design and execution of crop plan and finding and coordinating labor and labor resource volunteers. Maintain compost and recycling programs. Maintain the yard in a weed free and presentable park-like manner. Assist in log activity to maintain organic or achieve organic certification status on crops planted. Responsible for ensuring flood irrigation procedures are followed and irrigate property according to MRGCD timetables. Responsible for maintaining a sustainable garden and coordinate it’s seasonal implementation. Maintain and repair light equipment and tools and inventory tool log. Supervise custodial contractors, if any.
2. Security
Responsible for the following security measures: Day to day security of property to include opening and securing all doors, windows and gates, first response incidents and reporting any unusual incidents or violations of County or HHA property. Ensure all security systems are working properly. Provide controlled access to property. Monitor security camera systems.
3. Event Coordination
Assist HHA members and other volunteers in coordination of events. Schedule and assist with docent tours. Develop educational activities with schools and other community groups. Coordinate programmatic activities with Bernalillo County Open Space. Oversee rental agreements. Maintain daily log of events.
4. Administrative Duties
Responsible for maintaining the HHA calendar and ensuring that rental agreements are given to interested parties. Other responsibilities include: answering phone, deposit revenues (checks and cash) and maintain accounting records, mail distribution. Update and maintain all bulletin boards and communication on property. Maintain mailing lists. Maintain daily log of events, guest book and other records including files, supervise mercantile Goodwill staff.
5. Other duties as assigned
This position reports to the President of the Hubbell House Alliance.
Special Requirement: Person must live onsite and must have background check completed by County of Bernalillo.
